Battle Sardarabad
Only a small swath of land currently remains undefeated Armenian from Turkey, and in hundreds of thousands of refugees left Armenia. It seemed only a matter of time before it too will be overrun.
By May 22, 1918 the Turkish army invaded Hamamlu (modern Spitak), halfway between Alexandroupoli and Karakilisa. The relationship between Tbilisi and Yerevan, now cut off. Then from Alexandroupoli, the Turks began to attack the three branches, in an attempt to capture all that remained of Armenia. At this meeting, commonly known as the Battle Sardarabad, Armenian forces finally abandoned the army to save the heart of eastern Turkey and Armenia and Turkey.
Turkey invaded Karakilisa Nazarbekian, and forced him back in Dilijan. But there she stood firm. Around Yerevan Armenia own troops under the command of General Silikian (Silikov).
